Wow long time no post. I have been busy. Life changed so much since I last posted. Schools been going well with a 3.2 for my first semester in collage. anyway this post was mostly stirred by a great slashdot(ah the joys of geekdom) post, which follows

"A Seattle school board has placed a moratorium on screenings of 'An Inconvenient Truth', having found its subject matter too controversial. Echoing the language of the evolution debate, the school board found that students must be told that global warming is only a theory and presented with an opposing viewpoint. The ban was prompted by the complaints of a parent: '"Condoms don't belong in school, and neither does Al Gore. He's not a schoolteacher," said Frosty Hardison, a parent of seven who also said that he believes the Earth is 14,000 years old. "The information that's being presented is a very cockeyed view of what the truth is ... The Bible says that in the end times everything will burn up, but that perspective isn't in the DVD."'"

Now can people be so stupid in an advanced nation like the united states it just amazes me. One wonders where faith and science should cross. I sometimes think that people look to religion as a way to avoid thinking about the hard problems in life. In my mind that is nothing more then cowardness or lazyness. I like to think that I live in a nation that is about not shrinking from the problems of the world but, rather about standing up and facing them. People who have beliefs that can not stand up to anything other then there world view are living in a house on a cliff that is quickly eroding. Now if they take the time to defend there positions intelligently that laying down a safe foundation. I like to think I respect anyone who disagrees with me as long as they take the time to defend their views. I think defending their views by removing a resoure from a school is a poor choice. Shouldn't this person be able to teach is children well enough that would not be sway be a movie.
nuff' said about that.

In other news I got a futurama ring tone for my phone
