Aug. 2nd, 2004 01:03 amFor a sixteen year old I feel like I have a pretty cool job. Really I have two. One is a followspot op. in one of the three professional theatres in the state. The other is a gig every once in a while of my towns perfroming art foundation. the second one is also the place I interned last year and well hopefuly get paid at this winter.
One of the reasons I love being a theatre tech is that its all about teamwork and trust. Its hard work. Without teamwork things dont work so well as I learned today. things get done but you just end up filling bad about yourself.
So today I worked a Chris Isaac concert. All I did was help with the set up and take down of the stuff. which was enough to fill up a semi. during the load in a guy fell down and had a seizer. We was a member of the road crew and even though is people saw him doing this they just continued unloading the truck. It was my boss who was the first to help. anyway while my boss was holding this guy in his arms one of the road crew came up and asked him about running the cable. As a afterthought he asked about the guy. We did get done two hours ahead even with that.
